Do you supply spits for hire?
Yes – we happily deliver our spit with either a whole pig or lamb, set it up & commence the cooking for you. Then we pick up our spit when you’re done – simple! Please note our DIY spit hire service is only available to suburbs within an approx. 20km radius from Drummoyne. To check your distance, type “distance from Drummoyne to [enter your suburb here]” into Google’s search engine.
What is the minimum number of guests required?
For a package a minimum of 25 guests is required. If ordering only a whole pig, a minimum of 30 guests is required. Please note however, this is only a guide, as exceptions can be made depending on the details of your order. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
How many guests will a whole pig feed?
Our pigs range from 15kg to 40kg. A 15 kg pig feeds about 25 people, a 25kg pig feeds about 50 people, a 30kg pig feeds about 60, a 35kg pig about 70. You can order more than one pig, for example for 80 people we recommend two 20kg pigs.
How much food should I order?
Our menu provides a guide as to how many guests each platter of food serves, however we will be more than happy to guide you if we feel you are under- or over- ordering.
Do you provide vegetarian options?
Our menu is not designed specifically with vegetarians in mind, however in our experience our wide range of canapes, tartlets, finger foods, bread, potatoes, and salads, will leave your vegetarian friends more than satisfied. We are also very happy to provide vegetarian options specifically designed with your party in mind, please contact us to discuss.
Will there be a chef onsite to carve and serve the meat?
For our catering option our chefs will be onsite to monitor the entire cooking process, carve the meat and assist with serving the guests.
Do you supply catering staff?
The number of catering staff provided will depend on the size of your event and menu. If you would like to hire waitstaff to assist with serving drinks, there are companies that specialise in waitstaff hire and we recommend you go through them.
Do you provide catering supplies?
We supply high quality, biodegradable disposable plates, cutlery, napkins and foil trays for any leftovers as part of all our packages. We also supply service platters and utensils for your event. However we no longer supply chinaware or glasses due to breakage, but we can recommend party supply companies we have used in the past.
What facilities or equipment do I need to provide?
All we need from you is access to electricity. If your location does not include this, for example, you are having a beach party, then we can offer you specific packages instead, please contact us to discuss. For all events we set up tables for the preparation, presentation and service of the menu. Depending on the weather and available room, we may set up a marquee to provide shelter while we cook and prepare. Should you have the space, we can prepare the menu items in your kitchen, if you like.
I haven’t finalised guest numbers yet. When is the last day I need to confirm?
You can give us a rough estimate when making a booking, as confirmation of final numbers is is not required until one week prior to your event. This will allow us to make any necessary last-minute adjustments.
What are your payment options?
Payment can be made via EFT, cheque or cash. A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. Final payment by cash or cheque is due on the day of your event, or alternatively if paying via EFT payment is due 24 hours beforehand. In the unfortunate instance your event is cancelled, we require 7 days notice in writing. A deposit will not be refunded for cancellations occurring after this time.
What information do you require from me?
For your initial enquiry it’s helpful for us to know a bit about your event, including the date and location (suburb), type of event, and an estimate of guest numbers. Once you have decided to book us, a booking form will be emailed to you which outlines all details of your event, confirmed menu, and an itemized breakdown of costs. We will secure your booking once you’ve reviewed your booking form and paid your deposit.
